Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne Key Biscayne

Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne is a championship 18-hole golf course located on the island paradise of Key Biscayne, just 10 minutes from downtown Miami, and is the only public course on the Bay. Designed in 1972 by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin, and redesigned by von Hagge in 1993, the course features seven saltwater lakes, challenging sand traps, mangrove thickets and many holes overlooking Biscayne Bay.

The golf course has hosted 17 championship TOUR events, attracting famed players such as Lee Trevino, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Ray Floyd and Gary Player. From the back tees, the course is considered one of the most beautiful and difficult par-72 courses in the state and has been named as one of America's top 75 upscale courses by Golf Digest. It also has a fully stocked pro shop, cart and equipment rentals, pro lessons, a lighted driving range and practice chipping and putting greens.

It’s one thing to avoid hazards of water and sand. Quite another those with scales and dewlaps.

Cross the bridge from Miami to Key Biscayne’s Crandon Golf and you’ll find yourself on an extremely challenging PGA Champions Tour Course.

Once there, you'll likely encounter at least one iguana. Seeing you, he'll want to seem more intimidating. So, like an inflated handicap, he will stand tall and flare his dewlap. Do not be alarmed. While iguanas are endowed with eerily quick speed, razor sharp teeth, two sex organs, and the ability to both climb and swim they eat mostly plants and will, thanks to the third eye atop their head, sense you and your errant shot and scramble back to the mesozoic era Venture there yourself, reserve your tee time today.
