Every year, more than 1,300 PGA Professionals visit and play the three fabulous courses that are also open to the public at The PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fl. Two of these courses the Wanamaker Course and Ryder Course have just reopened after multi-million dollar renovations to the playing and putting surfaces, as well as the now pristine white sand bunkers. The Wanamaker Course (formerly the South Course) was named after PGA of America founder Rodman Wanamaker, who donated the Wanamaker Trophy, which is annually awarded to the PGA Champion. The Ryder Course (formerly the North Course) was named after Samuel Ryder, namesake founder of the Ryder Cup and its golden chalice trophy.

With exposure... success can follow. Brian Symonds Design Wedges are now getting both. His wedge design that combines the tradition of the first great wedges with the technology of today is gaining a reputation on the PGA Tour as well as with the average golfer. The wedges feature a traditional look and are comprised of 304 stainless steel. The secret that makes these wedges perform like no other is the unique heel grind on the sole of the club. The rounding and flattening of the club's heel lets golfers, pro and amateur alike hit pitches and chips off the tightest of lies.

When Mark McCumber was asked to create a Tournament Players Course on a flat piece of ground at the edge of the Florida Everglades, he did it with flair. The course designed by McCumber is now the centerpiece of an all-new development in Coral Spring that just breathes "class.” Most of the year this is a daily-fee course. The folks there like to say this is a "daily-fee course with a private-course experience." They're not kidding. TPC at Heron Bay's shining moment comes each March when it hosts the PGA TOUR for the Honda Classic.
That's when the difficulty of the course is dictated by "the length of the rough, the width of the fairways and the firmness of the greens," according to McCumber. March is also when Florida’s spring winds kick up, adding to the challenge of play on this vast 220-acre chunk of real estate.

Bonaventure Country Club is the golf-lovers golf course in Ft. Lauderdale. Appreciative of how important it is to play the game "right", Bonaventure's the only South Florida semi-private club to overseed its East Course greens this winter with bentgrass (Syn 96-2), rather than rye, at twice the normal rate to insure your putts will roll like they do "up north" all winter long. They've also overseeded the tees with rye and given the same conditioning care to the bunkers, which have a wetting agent applied to keep them consistent in the warm Florida sun. Golf-lovers golf course?

Every good golf club has its rules. Palm Cove Golf Club general manager Doug Moseley has an unwritten one on attire that “everyone has to come in with a smile on their face.” He applies it to his staff and hopes it rubs off on his members and even those making their first trip to Palm Cove, located on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River between US-1 and Florida’s Turnpike in Palm City. What else would you expect from a Chi Chi Rodriguez signature course? One thing is conditioning.
