Defending champion Tiger Woods will be joined by an elite field consisting of many of the world’s top-ranked golfers this March as Doral Golf Resort and Spa hosts the World Golf Championships – CA Championship for the second year in a row.
To celebrate this widely-televised competition, broadcast in over 140 countries, the Miami resort is offering visitors a chance to see their favorite professionals from around the world at a special rate. For a limited time, fans can book the WGC package, which is available March 20-23 and features a Garden-view resort room, full American breakfast buffet served daily, one golf round, including golf cart rental, per night’s stay on Great White or Golf course and daily clubhouse tickets to the WGA-CA. The package starts at $329 per person, per night. Located on the resort’s famed Blue Monster course, the 2008 CA Championship marks the 10th year of the World Golf Championship series. The stars competing in the event, including the top 30 from the 2007 FexExCup point standings, will compete for an $8 million purse with the grand prize of $1.35 million, the Gene Sarazen Cup and endless bragging rights. The CA Championship is one of three World Golf Championships sanctioned and organized by the International Federation of PGA Tours. Woods claimed the first WGC event of the year, defeating Stewart Cink to win the Accenture Match Play Championship in Tuscon in late February. Those who can’t travel to Miami for the CA Championship can catch the first and second rounds on the Golf Channel and the third and final rounds on local NBC affiliates.
